Well, I almost didn’t. We finally landed and after struggling down the stairs, onto the bus, then into the terminal and lining up at the Border Control. Dan went through first, no issues, a pic snapped and there was it. I went to the officer and he took my passport, then asked if I had a visa. I said no, did not know I needed one. He said I do, so I was sent to several other officers and finally was sent to a visa office. We’re there I paid Eur50 and again lined up and got through. Wow, I thought for a while I may be heading back to Basel.
Yes, I know, I should have checked before we left. It was a 1.5-hour taxi trip to the Hotel, DeCamondo in Galata Area. An old bank that has been converted. Nice room, well services. Not a bad location.
